Deduplicate, but select "latest" records based on date field

Is it possible to deduplicate data, but ensure that the record included in the result set is the "latest" single record as defined by a specific date field. In effect, comparing each of the duplicates and saying, show me the "latest" one only?

Inform of FTP Errors

When retreiving iok files via FTP it would be nice to be informed of the error when it fails. Displaying the ftp server message would be enough.

possible bug with FTP output

If I have an existing publish to ftp block and hit the browse button to change the path, I get an invalid file format error. however, the file format is still .csv

Dynamically filtering a Database Table Source

I am trying to convert an existing report from another system into Omniscope. There is an existing stored procedure with parameters that was used in the previous system to filter the data retrieved from SQL database. In the DataManager I am now able to use the custom SQL in a database table source and pull data using the same stores procedure. However, I am not certain what is the best way to provide the parameter values that can change dynamically from say within the DataExplorer. Otherwise I will have to import millions of data rows which is not practical. What is the best way to handle this situation? Are parameters useful here? Can parameters be seen from the DataExplorer?

Oracle Array Size

Hi Visokio,

We have created a series of views to load data into Omniscope. I have noticed that increasing the Oracle Arrary size manually (when running the view in a SQL program such as Rapid SQL) increases the speed in which the view loads. Is there a way to overide the default arrary size Omniscope pulls? We are currently doing performance testing with some our our data that takes a while to compile and this was one of the options that has been discussed. Let me know if a call would be better suited for this?

HTML Export from Dataplayer not working in 2.7 Build 231

Hi, I just upgraded from build 108 this week and now my HTML export from dataplayer is not working. It just results in garbage. I was able to successfully export to SWF, which appears fine on the SharePoint site. Has something changed or is the HTML export broken? The site will not let me upload the output file so if you need it please let me know and I will email it to you. Thanks, Paul

data title Error in Bar Chart

The attached screenshot is of one of our users who is having the lite version (Reader Access) of Visokio where in if he is trying to look at the bar chart for which I have removed the data titles but still appearing in the chart. I have highligted it in attached snapshot. please check and let me know how this can be fixed.

Batch Output: cannot read csv file sent by email

I used 'Batch Output' to send an email with attached file in .csv and .iok format. An email can be sent successfully but cannot read the data in .csv file. There has no problem for .iko file.
I tested to publish output via 'Email Output' and attached .csv. There has no problem reading the attached data.

Connect points on map

Is it possible to have singular point still showing on a map even when you use the connect function. Currently I have broken up a boundary file to its outline points which using the connect function I can join up to make a boundary. However I also want to simultaneously show another set of points which lie within the boundary on the same map view. Currently if I show on one map, only the boundary line will show but the individual points will disappear as they don't connect.

temporary fiels of hard drive

hi

i am aware visokio creates temporary files on the hard drive equivalent to the memory in use by the iok file for the individual processes within it

my question is we have a PC with a small C (free space 5GB), but a much bigger D (free space 50GB)

i have had the message that action cannot be completed because not enough disk space from scheduler

will this be because 5GB is not enough or 55GB is not enough (memory in use by javaw.exe was just over 50GB just before i got the message

my question is essentially can we increase the D drive or add more hard drive space internally for visokio to use or does it need to be on the C drive

Field level timestamping / formula

Is it possible to create a field that contains a timestamp that reflects when it was last "touched"? The Today function only give m/d/y, not h:m:s as well. I tried to look at the existing functions, but couldn't work out the best way to do this. Thoughts?

Enlarge Coloumn Header Height in Pivot view?

Content View Cell coloring and merging

Hi all,
Can you have the below attached snapshot version for which I have modified the HTML code in the backend for merging the multiple rows and columns. Coloring the whole cell would also be helpful rather having a highlighter for the fonts.
Please find the attached snapshot for which I have modified in the html backend code for merging and coloring the cells.
As per my HTML attached, I have highlighted the entire box. Rather than using the highlight button in the menu this only highlights a portion of the box. Please change the button to highlight the entire box, matching this manually created HTML. Also you can create the multiple column / Row merging as per my highlighted HTML colde.
Please let you know your thoughts on this.

2.7 b 231 refresh using server asteriks appear on refreshed file

Hi

On the 2.7b231 build i am refreshing a file using the server edition.This file is refreshed from database and saved/sent out.The fiel sent otu has asteriks appearing on the tab headings.These should not be there as all changes in the original file where committed.

How do i avoid this in the new server ?

Color Key Formatting

View data and variables

Have a tab with two bar chart views. One Current state and the other target state. The difference between the two is affected by a variable which changes the value of a formula over time.

The formula looks like this...

IF([StateAsOf]<[Date],[Source],[Dest])

I have preserve output in formulas turned on in the block where I've created the formula referencing the variable to accomodate for the variable.

Is it possible to FREEZE the value of the variable in one view and hav it still be dynamic in the second? I've tried a query, but the query doesn't seem to capture the value fo the variable.

Database output drop table

We are updating data in tables on an external database using the Database output in DM.
As the table is dropped and rebuilt by omniscope, all fieldsettings and indexes are changed or completely removed.
This is causing the system running on these tables, to crash completely.

We basically need a solution that just updates or adds records in an existing table without changing any structures.

Is anything like this possible?

Is it possible to specify SharePoint lists as a data source? If there is no direct method, is there a way to use SOAP calls to extract data since SharePoint web service calls can be made using SOAP calls?

DataManager Bookmarks tab

Hi - Is it possible in DataManager to add a level of indirection in the bookmarks function?

i.e To enable bookmarks to be created then in the data block just to reference the name of the bookmark (and then the bookmark references the database)

Currently as far i am aware the only functionality of the bookmark is that you can drag the bokomark across and thus do not have to repeatedly set up frequently used databases.

The purpose is that it would enable me to change the database the bookmark references and not have to change the individual data blocks within each Omniscope if the DBs change the name/locations of the database/server.

A few ideas I would suggest to enhance bookmarks

1.) Being able to bookmark an output so I do not have to reconfigure the FTP site every time
2.) Being able to bookmark a filter fields so I can use templates and all my outputs are the same if desired
3.) Having a bookmark repository so multiple users could share bookmarks. Ideally there would be some bookmarks that should be used across the enterprise and some that are personal in nature. I would suggest a "bookmarks" and a "my bookmarks" rather than just rolling them up to each user. The my bookmarks would work just like they do now. The "bookmarks" would refer to a centrally managed set of bookmarks and would be configurable.

Error trapping for formulas

Hi - I'm working with a content view which contains some formulas which may or may not result in an error depending on the filter selections I have made (division by zero).
When an error is found, the whole content view gets distorted with the error details so I was wondering if:
a) there is a function equivalent to IFERROR() or ISERROR() in MS Excel (I can't find one in the list)
or
b) if there is a way to turn off the function error display in content views

Otherwise, it means I have to write some pretty long and complicated nested IF statements to tidy up the errors...

Decimals and locale

I have a model in DataManager where I have loads of files with different locales. I need to append them all together to the decimal fields are all recognised as numbers and I want to format them in the UK style ie using a decimal point as a decimal point rather than a comma as a decimal point. For example:

Netherlands
Item, Amount
Box, 15,25 (meaning 15.25)
Car, 15.000,27 (meaning 15,000.27)

UK
Item, Amount
Box, 9.99
Car, 8,250.34

Appended I want the output to be
Source, Item, Amount
Netherlands, Box, 15.25
Netherlands, Car, 15,000.27
UK, Box, 9.99
UK, Car, 8,250.34

Aggregated I want the output to be
Item, Amount
Box, 24.24
Car, 23,250.61

What is the best way to do this instead of importing as text, searching and replacing commas for points?

2.7 Map Files Inport own map

I have a pdf of a map and i would like to view postcode data over this on omniscope.

In map viewer however it only accepts ilf,vec,map files ...Is there any way they can accept pdf files or a method i can use to convert pdf to one of the acceptable map files.
