We are planning to add the ability for Omniscope to import SQL Server Analysis Server (SSAS) cube data via Excel in the near future. This would make it much easier to import data from SSAS, since you wouldn't need to set up HTTP access as you do with the current Omniscope cube connector. It would also harness the Excel/PowerPivot optimisations.

I will post to this forum once it has been implemented.

I tried HTTP and its not working, Have we already got a direct connector?

HTTP access to SQL Server Analysis Services requires the server to be configured as described here:

Have you tried setting up HTTP access as decribed in the instructions? What error message are you getting?

Have tried it chris and the link does,nt work for long time. It was very slow and then the connection broke. we would like a server connection rather than HTTP connected server. Is that possible?

Hi Omar,

Although the HTTP connection is slower than a direct connection we have still been able to retrieve several thousand in less than a minute. How many records are you trying to download? Also what do you mean by "the link doesn't work for long time"? Are you saying the connector stops working after a period of time? If so could you post a screenshot of the error message that is displayed.
